I think a lot and deeply about things that go on in our family’s life and also about things that go on in the lives of other families all over the world. My loving husband says I complicate things with my caring and thinking so broadly and so much about my concerns for those close to me, as well as my concerns for those I do not know personally.
Now, at 75, I know clearly and for sure that is just who I am.
I have always seen the sameness, not the differences, in families – in ethnic groups, in races, in education, in income, in religion, in status. That is where I get my surefootedness from, from seeing and valuing, foremost, our common ground. We are all human beings living on planet Earth, spinning through space.
I hope that this view may become more common and that, if it does, we will do better for sure by seeing all of us as fellow travelers on planet Earth, and that we will – all of us – lend a hand to those in need every and any day.
