The Southern Maine Agency on Aging is offering a free six-week training course for its Savvy Caregiver program to equip family caregivers of individuals with dementia and related disorders.

Wildflower identification
Georges River Land Trust will offer a wildflower identification walk with well-known local naturalist Wanda Garland from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday on the Oyster River Bog section of the Georges Highland Path.

Road race at Nasson
The Nasson Community Center will hold a road race at 6 p.m. Saturday, beginning at the Nasson Common, 457 Main St. The first 200 registrants will receive a free T-shirt, and cash awards will be presented to winners of various age groups and categories. Raffles and refreshments will be offered following the race.
Proceeds will benefit the Nasson Community Center and Little Theater. Entry fee is $12 for adults, $8 for ages 60 and older and $6 for students; children ages 9 and younger may participate for free. Ear cleaning and nail trimming are $5 and $10 each. Microchipping is available for $25 per pet.
