Lloyd John Perry, a lifelong resident of Kennebunk, left this earth for the next great adventure on March 3, 2023, at Gosnell House surrounded by family and friends.

Lloyd was born on Jan. 9, 1958, the youngest of Sherman and Bertha Perry’s four children. He attended local grade schools and Kennebunk High School, class of 1976.

Lloyd was a gifted musician; drums were the beat to his soul. He is remembered most by playing in the local band, The Friend Street Band. Lloyd had a natural aptitude for mechanics, there was not an engine he could not repair. He was a lobsterman for number of years working on the ocean out of Cape Porpoise. For the last 20 plus years he was employed by The Lobster Company in Arundel.

In 1987, he married Audrey Kuhn and together they spent wonderful years raising their daughter, Lexie. She was his pride and joy, and he took great pride in teaching her how to ride go-karts, drive boats, and appreciate a good old rock ‘n’ roll song.

Lloyd was a gentle, patient, and dedicated dad. He loved his family and friends and especially music. His favorite place to be was the Perry camp on Burnt Meadow Pond in Brownfield, Maine. Lloyd and his father and brother built the camp from the ground up, creating many memories for the Perry family.

He was loved by all who knew him for his kindness, his patience, and his big, generous heart.

He spent his later years with Dawn Ames of Kennebunk, his life partner.

Lloyd was pre-deceased by: his father, Sherman Leslie Perry, Sr.; mother, Bertha Jackson Perry; brother Sherman Perry, Jr.; and sister, Gloria Perry. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Alexandria Marie Perry of Reno, Nevada; sister, Diane Perry of Kennebunk; former wife, Audrey Kuhn Perry of Reno, Nevada; life partner, Dawn Ames of Kennebunk; sister-in-law, Valerie Kuhn Reid of Arundel; many nephews and nieces, including Matthew Reid of Kennebunk, Lance Reid of Salt Lake City, Utah, and James Howard of Kennebunk, Laura Reid of Stamford, Connecticut, and Amy Ward Desjardins of Waterboro. He also leaves behind many dear friends, too many to mention, but notably Mike Marceau, the most constant, and loyal friend to Lloyd and his family.

He leaves friends and family with the memory of his smile and laughter, and for being the life of any party.

Lloyd, you are at peace now. You will forever be loved. Rock on, up there!
