Robert A. Carter

SCARBOROUGH – Robert A. Carter, 73, of Elizabeth Lane passed away Sunday Feb. 19, 2023.

He was born March 21, 1949, the son of Norman and Charmaine Carter.

He attended local schools and graduated from Westbrook High School.

Bob served in the U.S. Air Force. After his service he worked for the Westbrook Public Works, S.D. Warren, and Southern Container. He then worked for many years in the Public Works Department for the Town of Scarborough and after retirement continued to work for Community Services in Scarborough until November 2022.

Bob was predeceased by a daughter Dara Carter in 2022. He enjoyed fishing, sports, especially the Boston Celtics.

Bob is survived by his wife Susan Carter of Scarborough, a son David Cole (Angel) of Buxton, a daughter Julie Grass (Scott) of Gorham, five grandchildren, Madison, Abigail, Christian, Kyle and Angelo, two nephews, two nieces, and three sisters Debbie of Raymond, Jackie of Falmouth and Jeannie of Falmouth.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 1 p.m., Feb. 25, 2023, at

Dennett, Craig & Pate, 13 Portland Road, Buxton.

Spring burial will be held at Scarborough Memorial Cemetery.
