A Portland man was injured in a house fire at 32 Meadow Lane Saturday night.

Deputy Fire Chief Robert Thompson said the man was standing outside the home when firefighters arrived at 11:54 p.m. Thompson said the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen.

The firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen and attic. The siding on a detached garage was blistered in the blaze.

The cause of the fire, which is not considered suspicious, is under investigation by the department.

The man was taken to a Portland hospital for treatment. His identity was not released by the fire department.
