The 13th annual Kezar Falls Lilac Festival will be held Saturday in the downtown area by the Ossipee River.
The event will kick off with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Riverside United Methodist Church. A Bike and Doll Carriage Parade will follow at 9:30 a.m. Activities and vendors will be featured on the green, on both sides of the river, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., including artisans, crafters, food concessions, yard sales, informational materials from nonprofits, and plant sales, including lilacs.
A walking tour of historic village homes, a book sale at the Kezar Falls Library, a magic show, softball games, fishing demonstrations and “Battle of the Bands” events all will be offered.
The day will end with a chicken barbecue at 4:30 p.m. adjacent to Kezar Falls Hardware. In case of rain, activities and vendors will be in the South Hiram Elementary School gymnasium on South Hiram Road in Hiram.

Morris Farm plant sale
Morris Farm’s 10th annual Community Plant Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the farm on 156 Gardiner Road. The event will feature perennials, herbs, heirloom tomatoes and gardening tips.

Talk on cemetery history
Waterboro cemetery researcher Jeannie Grant will detail her 40 years of cemetery research at the Waterborough Historical Society meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Elder Grey Meeting House on Chadbourne’s Ridge Road.
Grant will give biographical sketches on veterans buried at the Elder Grey Cemetery, including a walking tour of the cemetery. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call Jim Carll at 247-5878.
