Pearl L. Burbank

KEZAR FALLS/CORNISH – Pearl L. Burbank, 91, passed away on Nov. 14, 2022 at her son’s home where she resided for the past 19 years. She was born in Windham on Oct. 15, 1931, to the late Evans and Hazel (Griffin) Pendleton.

She graduated from Hollis High School. After high school she worked at Nissen’s Bakery. In 1951, she moved to Kezar Falls and in 1955 she married John F. Burbank. They were married for 49 years. Together, her and John ran the local laundromat in Kezar Falls for over 40 years.

Pearl enjoyed reading, crocheting, and embroidery. She won many blue ribbons at the local fairs for her handiwork. But her two favorite things were Beano and going to the casino. She was at Oxford Casino on Tuesday. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society for 12 years, her group was “The Good Time Gals”, she was “The Queen” of the group. She enjoyed her time as a Red Hatter, especially all the trips they took.

She was predeceased by her husband John in 2004, a sister, Frances, brothers, Stanley and Irving; a son John H. Burbank; grandson, Jeff Johnson, and granddaughter, Yvonne Burbank.

She is survived by her children, Lucielle and husband Gary, Dorothy and husband Don, Mary and husband Jim, Bryan and wife Wendy, Kenneth and significant other Patti, Michael, Richard and significant other Medy, Robert and wife Bruna; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 18 from 1 – 2 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. Cornish, ME. Burial will follow at the Kezar Falls Burial Ground.
