Beatrice Arlene (Maxwell) Strout

WESTBROOK – Beatrice Arlene (Maxwell) Strout, 79, passed away on Nov. 4, 2022. She was born in Westbrook on Sept. 23, 1943, to John R. and Annie (Small) Maxwell.

Beatrice grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School’s Class of 1961. She married Philip W. Strout in 1961, they remained married for 50 years, until his passing in November 2011. She never went far from her childhood home, just past the garden, down the path and across the hay field.

She is survived by her children, Philip W. Strout, Jr., Sylvia J. (Strout) DeRoche, and Daniel E. Strout; grandchildren, Patricia Strout-Fiener and her husband Matthias, Devin Strout, Christian Strout, Joseph DeRoche, Susan DeRoche; and great-grandchildren, Jolien, Leah, Marlene, Hendrik, Damian, and Lion.

The family thanks the staff of the Barron Center for the loving care given to our mother.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook. A celebration of life will be held sometime in the summer of 2023 and will be announced at a later date.
