Steve Moriarty and Teresa Pierce have served in the state Legislature with a calm demeanor and attentiveness to local concerns, serving Mainers well. Each is approachable, a leader who listens then explores the best options for Maine.
Both supported policies that enhance growth in the Maine economy and brought more state funding to our local schools. Teresa supported property-tax relief through revenue-sharing between the state and municipal governments. The bipartisan law she supported keeps local property taxes in check while increasing state funding for our town schools. Steve voted for bills to address tax burdens and encourage the development of clean energy in the state.
As a Cumberland resident, I feel confident that Steve will continue to strongly represent us in the Maine House and Teresa will serve as a reliable Maine state Senator.
Vote Moriarty for House District 110 and Pierce for Senate District 25.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
