Democratic Sheriff Bill King brings proven skills and experience to community-based policing, tackling York County’s toughest issues.

Sheriff King serves on the Governor’s Opioid Collaborative, and with his team has established the largest medication-assisted treatment program of all county jails statewide. The Sheriff’s Office recently obtained a body scanner to help officers identify drugs that may be introduced into the facility.

Word spread widely of his successful program writing letters to possible traffic law offenders and good citizens, started to address reported traffic infractions, leading to King being a featured speaker at the 2022 Northeast Transportation Safety Conference.

He has partnered with AAA to speak about common pitfalls that older drivers make, a program designed to prolong one’s driving life, and often educates older adults on how to avoid scams.
