Caoilinn Durkin, Finley Brown and Sophia Monfa scored in the first half to lead Cheverus to a 3-0 win over Marshwood in a Class A South girls’ soccer match Friday afternoon in Portland.
Durkin opened the scoring when she headed in a pass from Jillian Foley. Durkin then set up Brown’s goal that made it 2-0, and Monfa padded the lead just 30 seconds later, assisted by Annie Vigue.
Evelyn Rush of Cheverus (7-3) and Samantha Arnold of Marshwood (10-2) each finished with nine saves.
BRUNSWICK 3, MT. BLUE 0: Alexis Morin scored two second-half goals as the Dragons (10-0-1) pulled away from the Cougars (10-1) in Brunswick.
Morin’s first goal was assisted by Hannah Lay off a corner kick. She added an unassisted goal with nine minutes remaining.
Molly Tefft scored off a corner kick in the first half, also assisted by Lay.
Sophia Morin made eight saves for the shutout. Mt. Blue’s Caitlin Burke had 17 saves.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Elise MacNair broke Old Orchard Beach’s career record for goals, scoring twice as the Seagulls (7-4) defeated the Hawks (1-9-1) in Old Orchard Beach.
MacNair now has 53 goals, one more than the record set by Abby Dubois in 2012.
Tessa Ferguson also scored and Summer St. Louis made four saves for OOB.
Julia Tuthill was the goal scorer for Sacopee, which got 10 saves from Madison Eastman.
CAPE ELIZABETH 3, GREELY 0: Juliet Moore and Noelle Mallory scored in the first half to start the Capers (11-0) on their way to a win over the Rangers (7-3-1) in Cape Elizabeth.
Maisie Rayback tacked on a goal in the game’s final minute.
YARMOUTH 2, FREEPORT 0: Aine Powers connected from 30 yards late in the first half and Ava Feeley put in a rebound in the second half, leading the Clippers (8-3) past the Falcons (5-5-1) in Freeport.
YORK 2, LAKE REGION 0: Ella Boissonneault and Grace Clayton tallied first-half goals, and the Wildcats (5-3-3) shut out the Lakers (5-6) at Naples.
Emily Rock recorded seven saves for Lake Region, while Ella Hickey had four saves for York.
FIELD HOCKEY
NOBLE 3, BIDDEFORD 2: Ella Anania scored in overtime at North Berwick as the Knights (7-3) defeated Biddeford (10-2) for the first time in 13 years.
Ashley Merchant and Jenna Baxter also scored for Noble, with Baxter and Anania adding assists.
Eliza Doyon scored both Biddeford goals.
Trinity Valle finished with seven saves for Noble. Cadence Goulet had four stops for Biddeford.
SCARBOROUGH 1, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Ayden Harris scored on a feed from Anjali Bhatnagar three minutes into the first quarter, and the Red Storm (10-2) made it stand up as they blanked the Golden Trojans (9-4) in Saco.
Jamila Mohamed recorded three saves for Scarborough, including a penalty stroke in the second quarter.
Thornton’s Allison Marines stopped nine shots.
MARSHWOOD 3, BONNY EAGLE 0: Reece Forrester tallied two goals and Olivia Minotti had one as the Hawks (5-6-1) defeated the Scots (0-10) in Standish.
SANFORD 1, FALMOUTH 1: Anna Turgeon scored from Allison Sweetser at 6:53 of the fourth quarter as Falmouth (5-6-1) came back to tie visiting Sanford (5-5-1)
Lilianna Lam scored in the first quarter for the Spartans, and Megan Sheppard made five saves.
Falmouth goalie Jenna Nunley stopped two shots.
LEAVITT 3, MORSE 0: Jada Beedy, Jazzlynn Clark and Grace Gonyea scored in the fourth quarter to lift the Hornets (10-2) over the Shipbuilders (3-10) in Turner.
Winning goalie Lily Chabot made two saves.
CONY 7, OCEANSIDE 1: Abby Morrill notched a hat trick to spark the Rams (7-6) to a win over the Mariners (6-6-1) in Rockland.
Caroline Hendrickson, Elise Cunningham, Maci Freeman and Isabella Smith also scored for Cony. Avery Maxim and Kiara Blanchette combined to make two saves.
Oceanside got a goal from Maddie Riley and 11 saves from Sophia Clayton.
OAK HILL 3, BOOTHBAY 1: Julie Mooney, Izzy Whitaker and Lilly Coburn scored unassisted goals, leading the Raiders (5-9) over the Seahawks (1-10) in Wales.
Winning goalie Ella Martin made two saves, allowing only an unassisted goal by Rose Campbell.

YARMOUTH 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Brianna Torres finished with 17 digs as the Clippers (11-1) beat the Capers (7-5) in three tight sets in Yarmouth, 25-22, 25-22 and 25-19.
Madi Beaudoin added four aces and Leila Tati-Pambou notched eight kills.
Josie Caton recorded 18 digs and Amy Rasco had 10 kills for Cape.
