As a registered nurse and mother, I know good health allows each person to function well and enjoy our many natural resources for a fulfilling life in Maine.
Regular medical and dental health care foster good health, and Gov. Mills’ expansion of MaineCare gave over 95,000 Mainers medical insurance, while her actions made dental care coverage available to over 200,000 Mainers.
The COVID pandemic has affected everyone’s health; the Mills administration’s response was ranked second best in the nation last spring by the Commonwealth Fund, a health care think tank. I was privileged to vaccinate many in the quest to avoid severe COVID illness.
Adequate shelter also helps maintain good health, and thankfully Gov. Mills released the voter-approved housing bonds blocked by former Gov. Paul LePage, and works on other aspects of affordable housing. Our health and natural resources are threatened by climate change, so Gov. Mills’ actions are serving to reduce our carbon emissions while working toward sustainability.
Gov. Mills has worked for a healthy, sustainable Maine. I hope you’ll consider that and join me in voting to reelect her.
