New principals in Portland
The Portland Public Schools is getting a slate of new school leaders.
Nicole Bradeen, the new principal at Longfellow Elementary School, joined Portland Public Schools in 2021 as the district’s coordinator of summer and expanded learning programs. Her prior experience includes being director of community and belonging at Waynflete School.
Before relocating to Maine, Sarah Gips Goodall, the new principal at Lyseth Elementary School, was the principal of McGlone Academy, a public pre-K to grade 8 bilingual school in Denver, for nine years.
New King Middle School Assistant Principal Jason Bradeen was previously the school counselor and Behavioral Response to Intervention coordinator at Saco Middle School for five years.
Blake Kastle is the new assistant principal at Lincoln Middle School. She joined Portland Public Schools in 2019 as assistant
principal/lead teacher of the district’s Breathe Behavioral Health Continuum, which serves students with serious behavioral and emotional needs.
Terrence Young, formerly Longfellow principal, is now the executive director of district operations. He will head the district’s newly created Business Office, providing leadership, coordination and supervision in the areas of transportation, food services, facilities, finance and human resources.
