James C. Brown

SCARBOROUGH – James C. Brown, 75, of Scarborough, passed away at his home peacefully on July 23, 2022. Jim was born in Manhattan, N.Y. Oct. 28, 1946, the son of Charles and Vera Brown.

Jim graduated from Deering High School in 1965 and served in the United States Marine Corp from 1965 to 1969 where he earned the Purple Heart during conflict in the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Postal Service in Portland after 32 years and later worked for Enterprise Rent a Car where he loved driving to different locations.

Jim and his wife Beverly loved their trips traveling to Florida and later cruises on Disney Cruise Lines.

Jim was predeceased by his mother and father; and sister Janet Johnson. He is survived by his wfe Beverly; daughter Becky and husband Jason Roberts of Hooksett, N.H., daughter Dawn and husband Greg Stevens of Gorham, Maine; grandchildren Madison, Kaitlyn, Trent and Brooke. Also survived by sisters Ida Tanguay and Isabelle Cail; along with numerous In-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at A.T. Hutchins, 660 Brighton Ave Portland, Thursday, July 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 29, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway in South Portland.
