North Yarmouth is looking for two residents to serve as alternate members on the Planning Board.
Members participate in the review and discussion of new plans and projects proposed in town. The Planning Board’s major responsibility is the review of subdivision and site plan applications to assure compliance with the town’s land use ordinance. The board also proposes changes to the zoning map and land use ordinances.
The board includes five regular members and two alternates appointed by the Select Board who must be North Yarmouth residents. Regular meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.
Volunteers are also being sought for several other boards and committees in North Yarmouth, including the Zoning Board of Appeals, Recycling Advisory Committee, and Parks and Recreation. See northyarmouth.org for more.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
