SACO — Police in Saco have released the name of the person who perished in a car crash early Monday, May 9 on Ricker Road.
Police said the driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Highlander was Mariah Bailey, 15, of Saco.
Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal crash. They were called to Ricker road by a resident who reported hearing a loud bang around 3:15 a.m.
“Officers upon investigating located a gray 2021 Toyota Highlander that had gone off the roadway crashing into a stand of trees,” said Deputy Police Chief Corey Huntress. He said officers located the sole occupant, who had passed at the scene.
The initial investigation showed the vehicle was traveling south on Ricker Road, having crested a small hill and curve when it left the roadway, said Huntress.
The crash remains under investigation. Members of the Saco Police Department’s crash reconstruction team were called in examine the circumstances and course of events.
