$130K proposal on agenda for Feb. 28 special town meeting
Residents will decide whether to expend up to $130,000 from capital reserves to upgrade the technology system at the Meetinghouse at a special town meeting on Monday, Feb. 28, at the Memorial School Gym, 86 Intervale Road. Check-in starts at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Voters will also weigh in on accepting parcels of land, improvements to the library and approving a cable TV ordinance. Other warrant articles concern authorizing the use of undesignated funds to cover six overdrafts and mold removal and for the Charter Commission to continue work on the proposed charter as well as closing out a general ledger account pertaining to the public works garage.
Nature Forest Therapy
Hughes Kraft, a certified Nature Forest Therapy guide, is offering a way for you to unwind by sharing his knowledge of Maine forests. A Nature Forest Therapy Walk provides a two-hour opportunity to slow down and connect with nature and your essence.
It’s not a destination hike nor a nature walk where things are named and described. Rather it’s an invitation to explore the relationship between humans and the natural world surrounding us.
This adult program for ages 18 and over is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Pineland Farms. Participants are to meet at the Education Barn. From Morse Road, take a right on Farm View Drive. Continue and then go left onto Valley Farm Road. Proceed to the white silo and take a right. The Education Barn is the largest barn in the Family Farmyard.

Parkour for young athletes
The Gray-New Gloucester Recreation Department is offering a new, introductory parkour class in collaboration with Ed at the Movement Lab Collective. Parkour uses natural, free and effective movements to overcome obstacles. This athletic discipline focuses on a growth mindset, teaching athletes that small steps are necessary to build toward all goals.
Classes are for children in second through fourth grade. Kids will learn how to properly warm up their bodies as well as learn and practice foundational skills. Each session will wrap up with a fast-paced game of chase tag. Only participants will be allowed in the gym during class time. Face coverings are required for all.
Classes will be held at the Community Building, 381 Intervale Road, behind Town Hall. They are schedule from 4:35-5:25 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 9-30. The fee is $50.
