Midcoast Humane has re-launched a campaign to raise $6 million to fund the renovation of a new facility, according to a press release.
“The shelter at Range Road is simply no longer adequate,” the release read. “For the health and wellness of the animals in our care, we need to move them to a new facility, one that serves them better.”
The organization, which has sheltered Midcoast animals since 1950, has raised $3.3 million toward its goal. Additional funds will go toward installing a new HVAC system and a modern surgical suite in the organization’s new building at 5 Industrial Parkway.
Midcoast Humane plans to move to its new location after the renovations are complete in the second quarter of this year.
