BOYS
Isaac Salas, Waynflete, tennis: Salas won three matches to remain unbeaten at No. 1 singles for the Flyers, who avenged a season-opening loss to Cape Elizabeth with a 3-2 victory. He also swept through qualifying for the state singles tournament without dropping a game as the top seed in Region 5.
HONORABLE MENTION
Jensen Lapoint, Cheverus, baseball: Lapoint struck out 13, allowed three hits and one run in six innings as the Stags beat Thornton Academy 3-1 in game between two of the better teams in the SMAA.
Tanner Laberge, Windham, baseball: Laberge was the hard-luck loser despite 18 strikeouts in a 3-2 loss to Portland in nine innings. Laberge allowed four hits but only two after the first inning.
Zach Bryant, Thornton Academy, lacrosse: Bryant scored four goals in a win over Biddeford, and had three goals and five assists in a win at Waynflete.
GIRLS
Luisa Sbardella, Windham, lacrosse: Sbardella had a pair of five-goal games in leading the Eagles to two victories. She had five goals and one assist in a 17-6 win over Deering. In the next game she scored five goals and added four assists in a 13-2 win over Edward Little.
HONORABLE MENTION
Julia Treadwell, Falmouth, softball: Treadwell struck out 10 and walked one in a 9-0 shutout of Wells on Monday. She also had three hits, including a three-run homer. Last Saturday, Treadwell pitched a two-hitter and hit a two-run homer in a 7-2 win over Kennebunk.
Mary Cronin, South Portland, lacrosse: Cronin scored four goals in a 13-8 win over Portland, then had five goals in a 15-8 win over Cony.
Morgan Boyle, Portland, softball: Boyle hit two home runs, drove in five runs and scored four times in the Bulldogs’ 15-7 win over Westbrook.
