SOUTH PORTLAND — The South Portland Public Library will host library reading programs this winter. The programs are for all ages, children and adults.
The Winter Animal Tracks program will be hosted by Miss Caley and runs Thursday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. The program is for ages 5 through 10 and explores how Maine animals walk and how to discover their tracks, how they look in the snow and mud. With the new skills participants learn, they will be able to identify animal tracks on their next outdoor adventure.
There is no registration required for the program and it will be hosted at the Main Library.
Join the Main Library on Saturday Feb. 26 at 10:30 a.m. for an outdoor program. According to a library news release, the event will be “great for all ages so dress warmly. The library will read a story, create some snow art and have a fun building challenge.”
The Winter Reading program is a six-week event and is runs through March. 12. It is being sponsored by the Friends of the South Portland Public Library. The program is for all ages, young children to adults and encourages reading and fun activities for all including some prizes for every age group.
Adults can win raffle tickets for weekly gift card drawings, teens and children will earn a free book by completing the passport. Participants can pick up their tasks and visit the Main or Branch libraries to pick up the Winter Reading Program passport. Participants will need to complete the tasks on the passport to be eligible for prizes.
