BOYS
Charlie Bell, Wells, baseball: Bell went 3 for 5 with five RBI and scored a pair of runs as the Warriors knocked Greely from the unbeaten ranks with a 9-5 win. He also got the pitching win, allowing seven hits with six strikeouts.
HONORABLE MENTION
Victor Menezes, Thornton Academy, tennis: Led the Trojans to a 4-0 start by winning his first four matches at No. 1 singles without dropping a set. Last spring the unseeded Menezes knocked off the 12th seed to reach the Round of 16 in the state singles tournament.
Cameron Wright, Gorham, lacrosse: White, a sophomore, had five goals and three assists to lead the 4-0 Rams past Cheverus, and three goals and six assists in a win over Marshwood.
Xiaoyu Victor Yang, Fryeburg Academy, track: The Class B indoor triple jump and high jump champion, Yang, a junior, captured the high jump in 6 feet and the long jump with a jump of 18 feet, 11.5 inches in a meet at Wells.
GIRLS
Stephanie Rundlett, York, softball: Rundlett hit three home runs and had five RBI as the Wildcats beat Freeport, 15-0. She also got the pitching win, allowing two hits with nine strikeouts and a walk. On Wednesday, Rundlett struck out 18 in a 4-3 victory over Fryeburg Academy while tossing a four-hitter.
HONORABLE MENTION
Jenny Bush, Kennebunk, lacrosse: Bush, a junior, scored six goals against Wells, and three goals against both Yarmouth and Waynflete to help lift the Rams to a 4-0 start.
Elora McCuddy, Traip Academy, track: In a meet at Cape Elizabeth, McCuddy ran a 400 time (59.24) that would have finished second at last year’s Class B state meet to win the event along with the 200 (27.68).
Izzy Evans, Greely, tennis: Took over at No. 1 singles for the defending Class B state champion and has yet to lose a match, leading the Rangers to a 4-0 start.
