The Woman’s Literary Union awarded several prizes at its annual Creative Writing Contest luncheon March 20. The contest is open to area high school juniors. First prize ($500) was awarded to Madeline Curtis, Falmouth High School; second prize ($300), Teah Buble, Falmouth High School; third prize ($200), Sofia deOlivera, Deering High School. Five honorable mention prizes of $100 each were awarded to Gail Johnson, Waynflete; Molly Bennett and Hannah Marr, both of Falmouth; Sarah Mulligan, Scarborough; and Ashlee Dawson, Greater Portland Christian School.
