South Portland police are investigating a spate of vandalism apparently caused by someone shooting a BB gun from a car at night.
Tuesday and Wednesday nights, someone used a pellet or BB gun to damage the windows of businesses and cars in the Thornton Heights neighborhood, causing $2,000 to $3,000 in damage, police said.
Business windows on Main Street and car windows on Southwell and Froswick avenues were damaged.
Police believe the shots were fired from a vehicle moving through the area. Police asked that anyone with information contact Officer Katier Thurlow at kharper@southportland.org or call 741-4100.
