GRAY — Zachary Griffin, 26, of Gray was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other charges after he led police on a chase Friday at 9:30 p.m. in Gray.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s office said a citizen called to report a possible intoxicated driver in a truck. A deputy in a cruiser responded to the area and passed the truck at Cole Farms Restaurant, where the cruiser was nearly struck by the truck head on.
The truck then passed several vehicles in an attempt to get away. The truck turned on to Legrow Road where the chase ended at the end of the road.
Griffin was the lone occupant of the truck. Police also found an unloaded handgun and loose ammunition behind the center console.
Griffin was charged with operating under the influence, refusing to stop for a police officer, refusing to submit to an arrest, driving to endanger, reckless conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.
