PORTLAND – Police are investigating a bank robbery at the Norway Savings Bank branch on Congress Street this morning.
Police said a white or Hispanic woman went into the bank around 10:30 a.m. and demanded money from a teller, indicating that she had a gun.
She left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen leaving the parking lot in a blue compact car.
Police described the suspect as dark-haired, 5-feet, 8-inches to 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing about 180 to 220 pounds and in her 30s or 40s. She was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white striped sweatpants.
