Brunswick police are investigating the cause of a head-on collision Sunday night at Cooks Corner, near the Merrymeeting shopping plaza.

Police said both vehicles had extensive damage and people inside the vehicles had to be extricated. No serious injuries were reported, but one person had to be transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with non-life threatening injuries, according to a dispatcher.

The accident was reported at 6:17 p.m.
