James E. Pendergast Sr.

WELLS – James E. Pendergast Sr., formerly of Wells and Natick, Mass., passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 in Kennebunk.

Jim, as he was known to all, was born and raised in Waltham, Mass. He was the son of John and Mary (Hurley) Pendergast.

He married the love of his life, Anne (Reilly) Pendergast on May 15, 1954. They shared 60 loving years together raising three sons. Jim worked at New England telephone in Needham, Mass. for 30 years before retiring to Wells.

Jim was predeceased by wife, Anne; son, James Pendergast Jr.; siblings William Pendergast, John Pendergast, Daniel Pendergast, Matthew Pendergast, Richard Pendergast and Dorothy Aborn.

James is survived by his two sons, Stephen Pendergast and Kevin Pendergast, daughters-in-law Lisa Pendergast and Heather Pendergast; sister, Mary Keyes; grandchildren Lily Pendergast, Gerald Pendergast and Riley Pendergast; along with countless nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd., Wells ME 04090. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church, 236 Eldridge Rd., Wells, ME 04090 with interment at Ocean View Cemetery in Wells.
