There are two open seats on the Standish Town Council up for election June 8. The best choices to fill these seats are Greg LeClerc and Ben Macri.
Greg is up for reelection to the Area 1 seat, having been elected in 2019. He represents Standish residents with thoughtful enthusiasm, asking people what they want for their town’s future. A small business owner who helped rescue the Standish Food Pantry, which helps so many families, especially in the pandemic, he supports more businesses, low taxes, and is community- and open-minded.
Ben is newer to politics, has raised his family here for 20 years, works in the tech industry and is dad of three. Active in 4H, Schoolhouse Arts Center and coaching youth sports with a fresh perspective, he understands jobs will bring families and keep them for the long haul.
Join me in voting for these two able, committed candidates on June 8.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
