Journeyman Press Operator

The Portland Press Herald is seeking a Journeyman Press Operator to work nights in our South Portland, Maine, plant.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for all areas of the Pressroom and Platemaking operations, including:
  • Prepping rolls of paper
  • Setting rollers in the press
  • Standard maintenance of press equipment
  • All functions to work on the press, folders, and press controls
• Ensures printed products meet all quality standards
• Completes prioritized work to meet deadlines

Our Ideal Candidate has:

• Previous Offset Printing experience.  Goss Urbanite or DGM 850 experience is preferred.
• Previous experience on Jaw and Rotary folders
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work nights and weekends.  We are a 365 operation.
• Works safely and understands safety procedures, including LOTO and Hazard Communication
