Singer-songwriter Stephanie Atkins is a lifelong Mainer who grew up in Standish and now lives in Hollis. She released her debut album, “Skinny Jean Bonfire,” in 2019.

“Jane Doe” was released as a single on Sept. 22. Atkins describes it as a “cautionary tale about judging a woman by her mini-skirt, so to speak.” It’s a breezy, upbeat song with an empowering feminist message.

Atkins is releasing some of the songs from her upcoming album, “Promise Street,” as she completes them.

“Jane Doe” features Chris Neal on guitar and bass, Bob Whytock on keys, Todd McLellan on drums and Kari Hodgens and Luna Colt on harmony vocals.
