BOYS
Joe Fitzpatrick, Cheverus football: Fitzpatrick scored three touchdowns, including the winner on a 10-yard run in the second overtime as Cheverus knocked off unbeaten Thornton Academy, 48-41. Fitzpatrick’s other touchdowns were on runs of 54 and 67 yards. He rushed for 197 yards. He is the second-leading rusher in Eastern Class A with 1,170 yards, only 5 yards behind Dane Johnson of Bangor. Fitzpatrick has 47 fewer carries than Johnson. Both have 17 touchdowns.
HONORABLE MENTION
Daulton Wickenden, Camden Hills golf: Wickenden shot a 3-under 69 to lead the Windjammers to their second straight state Class B golf championship last Saturday at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.
Jackson Fotter, Gorham soccer: Fotter headed in the Rams’ goal in a 1-1 tie against Thornton Academy and had three first-half goals in a 4-0 victory against Noble.
Brady Levesque, Cheverus soccer: Levesque scored three goals in a 7-2 win against Noble and notched one goal in a 2-2 tie with Bonny Eagle.
GIRLS
Jocelyn Mitiguy, Greely soccer: Mitiguy scored the winning goal in overtime in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Cape Elizabeth and added two goals in a 6-1 win against Lake Region as the Rangers improved their record to 10-1-1 in Western Class B.
HONORABLE MENTION
Jenna Soucy, Windham soccer: Soucy scored a pair of hat tricks in a week that included three goals and one assist in a 7-0 win against Marshwood in a showdown of the top two teams in the Western Class A Heal point standings. She also had three goals in a 10-0 win against Massabesic.
Bonge Lako, South Portland field hockey: The Red Riot freshman forward scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Cheverus that secured the Riots’ playoff berth.
Charlotte Smith, Gorham field hockey: Smith, a senior forward, had a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win over Sanford and had two assists in a 6-0 win over Portland.
