LISBON — George Roy, president and CEO and a 31-year employee at Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union, was recently awarded the Maine Credit Union League’s 2017 James M. Gratto Award for outstanding credit union CEO.
The award is chosen from nominations received by the league from credit unions all over the state. The league reviews the criteria of those who go above and beyond, and chooses one winner each year.
The annual awards banquet took place in May at the Holiday Inn in Portland. The event marked the Maine Credit Union League’s 79th Annual Meeting & Convention. The two-day event featured a program highlighting the delegates’ meeting, as well as renowned speakers, educational sessions, and entertainment. More than 850 attendees registered for the convention, which represented the highest turnout in at least three decades.
The Maine CU League’s annual awards have been presented since 1973.
Founded in 1959, the Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union is a not for profit, full-service financial institution owned by and operated for its members.
