BATH
Bath police arrested a man Tuesday who allegedly threw bottles at a residence and then fought with police while in custody, allegedly threatening to kill the responding officers after his release from jail.
Bath police Lt. Robert Savary said officers were called to Lincoln Street at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report that Benjamin Woodruff, 42 of Bath, had thrown a glass bottle against a house, damaging the siding.
When the responding officer arrived, Woodruff smashed another bottle against the side of the building, Savary said.
Woodruff was taken into custody and allegedly fought with officers and kicked one of the officers in the back while in the booking room; and threatened to kill the responding officers after he is released from jail, Savary said.
Woodruff was charged with criminal mischief, assault and criminal threatening and was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail, where he remained Thursday.
