DAMARISCOTTA — Mid- Coast Audubon presents the opportunity to participate in three Christmas Bird Counts.

Audubon and other organizations use data collected in this longest-running wildlife census to assess the health of the bird populations and to help conservation action. This year will be the 114th count, Audubon officials said. Last year, field observers and feeder watchers counted 71 species in the Damariscotta Circle.
