WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) — The father of a missing Maine toddler says he hopes to tell whoever has her that “they have no right” to have taken her.
In his first on-camera interview, Justin DiPietro told NBC’s “Today” this morning that he wants to do anything he can to help bring back his daughter, 20-month-old Ayla Reynolds.
More than two weeks ago, DiPietro reported her missing from his home in Waterville. He says he saw her the night before when he put her to bed, and she was gone the next morning. Police have declared her disappearance a crime.
DiPietro says he loves Ayla and would never harm her. He has previously released two statements, but the family of Ayla’s mother has criticized DiPietro for not pleading publicly for his daughter’s safe return.
