BRUNSWICK — On Thursday, former master commander chief of Brunswick Naval Air Station, Dan Nicholson, was presented with the Joshua L. Chamberlain Award by the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber of Commerce.
The award has been given yearly since 1976 to a person who has promoted “the best possible military community relationship within the Mid-coast area,” according to the chamber.
At the chamber’s annual dinner, Buthlay was re-elected to a second term on the chamber’s board, and Crowe was named an ex-officio member of the board.
Liz Wyman of J. Edward Knight Insurance in Bath was named to a first term on the board, and Jason Buchanan of Colonial Danforth Consulting in West Bath was named chairman of the chamber’s 21-member board. Matt Barbour of McLeod / Ascanio in Portland was also named to the board to a three year term.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
