BRUNSWICK, — Bowdoin’s Jill Henrikson of Bath has been named as the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week.
Henrikson led the Polar Bears to a 2- 1 record last week, including a four-point loss to top-ranked Amherst, by averaging 15.3 points, seven rebounds, two assists and 2.5 steals in a 2-1 week for the Polar Bears. Henrikson had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals in a four-point loss to the Jeffs. The senior guard shot 83 percent from the free-throw line (24-for-29) during the week.
The Morse High School graduate shared the weekly honor with Rachael Mack of Colby. She is enjoying the best season of her Polar Bear career, averaging a NESCACbest 16.8 points per game and three steals while standing fourth in the league with 30 3- pointers this year.
Bowdoin returns to Morrell Gymnasium to host Colby in a crucial NESCAC home game on Saturday at 2 p.m.
