BATH — The Bath Area Family YMCA will offer lifeguard training during February school vacation.
The training is open to swimmers age 15 and older. Applicants must pass a swim test to take the class.
“This comprehensive education is centered on preventing accidents in aquatic environments and includes all of the skills and knowledge required for the lifeguard candidate to be effective at swimming pools, lakefronts, beaches and water parks,” a YMCA release states.
Sessions meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 20 through Feb. 24 at the Bath Area Family YMCA, 303 Centre St.
The fee for training is $275, which includes certification, books and all prerequisites.
