PORTLAND — Portland starting pitcher Henry Owens pitched 7.2 innings of no-hit baseball leading the Sea Dogs to an 8-2 Eastern League win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Thursday.

In the New Hampshire eighth, Owens walked the first two batters before retiring the next two Fisher Cat hitters. With runners on second and thirds, Andy Burns doubled to score two runs and break up Owens’ no-hit bid.

Mookie Betts extended his on-base streak to 60 straight games with a single in the third inning.

The Sea Dogs and Fisher Cats play the second game of the four-game series tonight at 6 p.m. at Hadlock Field.
