BRUNSWICK — Dorothy M. Lavoie, 84, died Monday, May 23, 2016, at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick.

She was born in Bath, October 27, 1931, the daughter of Fred A. and Bernice D. MacDougall Bubier.

She was born in Bath Memorial Hospital and raised on the family farm on Foster’s Point Road. She attended Lowell School in West Bath, Central Grammar School and was a member of the Class of 1950 at Morse High School.

She lived in Boothbay and raised her family while working at various jobs, which included the Boothbay Information Center as a motel chamber maid and cleaned cottages in the area.

Mrs. Lavoie enjoyed planting her vegetable and flower gardens, feeding the birds, yard sales, knitting, sewing and reading.

She later married Lionel J. Lavoie of Brunswick. He died in August 1995.

She was also predeceased by a brother, Howard W. Bubier and a daughter Susan Mary.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Jane D. Lavoie of FL., Carol A. Stover of ME., and Ruth M. Watts of Boothbay Harbor; a son Fred A. Stover, 8 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, 3 step daughters and 2 step sons.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Orchard Hill Cemetery, West Bath. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are in the care of Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick
