BRUNSWICK — A Hudson man is in satisfactory condition this morning following a serious motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon.
John O’Brien, 54, was driving outbound on River Road near Rocky Hill Road when the front tire of his motorcycle clipped the rear tire of the motorcycle in front of him. Daniel Benttinen, 45, of Winslow, was the operator of the lead motorcycle, according to Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department.
O’Brien’s bike struck nearby ledges, and he suffered significant facial damage, a broken arm and possibly other broken bones in his face, Brunswick Police Officer Jonathan O’Connor said today.
O’Brien was taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was listed in satisfactory condition this morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Benttinen was uninjured.
Both bikes were totaled, according to O’Connor.
