PORTLAND — The Portland Sea Dogs used a five-run first inning en route to an 8-5 Eastern League win over the Bowie Baysox Wednesday night at Hadlock Field.

Oscar Tejeda and Juan Carlos Linares each had three hits, and Dan Butler connected for a three-run homer to lead the Portland offensive attack. Linares extended his hitting streak to a season-high nine games and raised his average to .344.

After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, the Sea Dogs sent eight men to the plate in the bottom of the frame. Eastern

League Player of the Month Bryce Brentz delivered a two-run single and Butler blasted his second home run of the series and fourth of the year to highlight the inning.

The teams were slated to conclude the three-game series today at noon.
