BRUNSWICK — Brunswick’s Cal Ripken Baseball Major Division recent championship game featured Dick’s Sporting Goods taking on Hawkes and Taylor, with Dick’s prevailing, 11-0.

DSG’s bats were hot, with hits from Cam Daly, Owen Richardson, Sam Sharpe, Andrew Chingos, Josh Guptil, Jack St. Pierre (solo home run), Hunter Lord and Alex Hannford.

Dick’s scored five runs in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth.

Everett Horch, Jack Harvey, Thomas Seitz and Adam Nussbaum had singles for Hawkes and Taylor.

Sharpe and Richardson combined for 11 strikeouts, keeping H & T scoreless.

Several players took the mound for Hawkes and Taylor, combining for nine strikeouts.

Semifinal action

In Ripken semifinal action recently, G.M. Wild took on Dicks Sporting Goods. DSG led 3-1 going into the sixth inning when G.M. Wild tied it up.

In the seventh inning, St. Pierre smacked a huge grand slam home run, giving DSG a 7-3 lead.

After a single in the bottom of the seventh by Jack Lowell, Richardson struck out the next three G.M. Wild batters to close out the game.

Getting hits for G.M. Wild were Noah Goddard (two), Scout Masse, Hunter Parker, Liam Hemberger and Lowell.

Notching hits for Dick’s were Richardson (two), Sharpe (two) and St. Pierre.

Matt Laforge and Isiah Johnson pitched for G.M. Wild, combining for 11 strikeouts.

Sharpe and Richardson shared DSG’s pitching duties, combining for 15 strikeouts.
