To the editor:
My name is Aaron Patterson. I used to perform in Maine as the character “Elantra Dupree.”
Your paper covered many of my performances in the Bath- Woolwich area.
I was just sitting here in my home in Arizona thinking how much I miss Maine. The people of Maine are so warm and inviting. I always felt a sense of safety while residing there.
Of course, your winters are cold, yet you learn to cope and enjoy the many beautiful places there.
I miss going to Now You’re Cooking, Pamela’s World, Kennebec Camera and all the wonderful downtown Bath sites. I still have my chair covers from The Country Kitchen store. They get great reviews here in the valley.
I just wanted to send a thank you to all the great friends and people of Maine. I miss that wonderful place and may one day return. My first stop will be to The Taste of Maine to see my great friend and confidant, Candice.
Thank you, Maine, for the great memories.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
