AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine election officials have scheduled a ballot recount in a state House primary race that was decided by two votes.
Officials say a recount will be held Tuesday for the House District 47 Republican primary, which covers Rockland and part of Owls Head.
Unofficial results from last Tuesday’s primary showed Gordon Mank Jr. with 165 votes and James Raye with 163 votes.
The recount will take place at the Maine Department of Public Safety. Representatives for each candidate and staff members from the secretary of state’s office will manually review each ballot to determine if the initial tabulation was correct.
