TOPSHAM — The Oratorio Chorale will hold auditions on three dates for the group’s 2012-13 season.
Auditions are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday or from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, and Wednesday, Aug. 29. All auditions are held at the Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church at 84 Main St. in Topsham.

The upcoming season will include Franz Schubert’s Mass in E flat, to be performed with the Maine Chamber Ensemble; Antonin Dvorak’s Mass in D and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb with organ accompaniment; and two works with guitar: one by Spanish composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and the other a new work by Vineet Shende commissioned by the Oratorio Chorale.
Director Peter Frewen has led the chorale for 26 seasons.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
