AUGUSTA — The Hampton Inn Augusta, located on Western Avenue, opened its doors for business earlier this month, according to a news release.

Sean Riley, president and CEO for Maine Course Hospitality Group, said, “We are very happy with the finished product and quality of the Hampton team. Our Hilton Honors members have been waiting for a Hilton-branded hotel in the capital city.”

Gordon Clark, general manager, added, “We were very encouraged with the highquality (of job) candidates in the Augusta market. The level of excitement and quality of this team is outstanding. Maine Course Hospitality Group has been a great partner of Hilton for years. The quality of their operations is second to none. Hilton Honors members will be happy to finally stay in Augusta.”

The Hampton Inn Augusta features an indoor pool and fitness room, free hot breakfast, business center and free high-speed Internet access. There is a “Suite Shop” where guests can buy snacks and sundries.

According to officials, having Margarita’s Mexican Grill and Enterprise Car Rental on the premises will be great amenities for guests.

The Freeport-based Maine Course Hospitality Group operates 13 hotels throughout New England, including the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Augusta and Brunswick, as well as Hampton Inns in Bath and Thomaston.
