BATH — Liberian refugee Marcus Doe, author of Catching Ricebirds: A Story of Letting Vengeance Go, will read and sign books at The Mustard Seed Bookstore, 74 Front St., Bath, from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28. Doe, who was born in Liberia, survived a bloody coupe at age 11 before immigrating to Boston. A recent graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, he now works to bring reconciliation to his homeland.
On Friday, July 29, Doe will participate in a Refugee Relief Dinner at the Richmond Church of the Nazarene, 91 Alexander Reed Road at 5 p.m. All are welcome to share a simple Syrian meal and stay to hear Doe share more of his story. Suggested contribution is $10 for adults; kids 12 and under free. All profits from the dinner benefit Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.
