Doris M. Stickney, 91, of Brunswick, died peacefully on July 19, 2016, at the Freeport Nursing and Rehab Center.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Leslie P. Stickney in 2000. They were married on September 14, 1942 and had 58 happy years together.

Doris was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Mary DeRouche of Portland and predeceased by six sisters and two brothers.

She was a homemaker and music lover from the big bands of the 40’s to Elvis. She enjoyed family gatherings, shopping with friends and knitting mittens for family and donated dozens to local shelters.

She is survived by a son, James P. Stickney of Jackman, Me., a daughter, Anne and her husband Bill George of Brunswick, Me..; two granddaughters, Stephanie and her husband Tony Roy & Jennifer and her husband Joseph Galletta both of Durham, Me.; four great granddaughters, Kara, Kindsey, Ryanne Galletta and Katheryn Roy of Durham, Me.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Freeport Nursing and Rehab Center for the excellent and loving care she received.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brunswick

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brunswick Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Road, Brusnwick, Maien 04011.
