BOOTHBAY — The Maine Brewers’ Guild will host the second annual “Craft Beer Comes to Boothbay” beer-tasting event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 14 at Boothbay Resort, 301 Adams Pond Road.
New this year, gates will open at noon for VIP ticket holders to enjoy some “back stage time” with the brewers and be among the first to taste their specialty brews.
In addition to award-winning beer from 32 Maine breweries, the event will feature special guest brewery, Smuttynose Brewing Co., of Portsmouth, N.H.
Rare, special and single batch beers will be featured among the brews that will be poured at the event, which also will feature a traditional New England Style barbecue, music by Boston-based band HDRnB and a silent auction.
All proceeds from the event support the Maine Brewers’ Guild.
General admission tickets cost $50 and include beverages, the barbecue and parking. VIP tickets cost $75. Des- ignated driver tickets are $25. A special commemorative tasting glass will be provided to the first 800 people who purchase tickets.
Tickets are available for sale online and must be purchased in advance for the 21- plus event. Pets will not be permitted. The event will be held rain or shine.
